Having a baby is a life-changing experience. Whether you’re a first-time mother or expecting a brother or sister for your first-born, it’s important that you have confidence in the hospital where your child will make his or her entrance into the world.
At Atlanta Medical Center, we’ve been delivering babies for more than 100 years, and we offer families a combination of medical skill, advanced technology and family-centered care to help ensure the best possible outcome for all deliveries.
We offer 20 private birthing suites and 8 high-risk perinatal rooms. Our advanced Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is also nearby if your newborn needs special attention. Our birthing suites offer a home-like environment and are equipped with private bathrooms with showers, sleeper chairs for dads, phone and cable TV. Many even feature a spectacular view of the Atlanta skyline.
The special birthing beds in these rooms are designed to make a mother as comfortable as possible. Each suite includes central fetal monitoring that is viewed from a central nurses’ station and, in some cases, a physician’s office too.
To make each birth experience unique, we are pleased to offer traditional birth methods, as well as water birth and midwife-assisted birth. And with special monitoring equipment, we are able to facilitate V-BAC (vaginal birth after Caesarean).
We know that babies often come unexpectedly. Our board-certified obstetrical hospitalist physicians are physically on site 24 hours a day, every day to take care of our mothers with any emergent needs. We are also proud of our low C-section rates, among the lowest in Atlanta.
We would be glad to give you a tour of our Labor & Delivery Unit. You can fill out the form below, or call us at 877-228-3638 to register.
