Atlanta Medical Center Welcomes New CEO

Thomas Casaday has been selected as the new chief executive officer of Atlanta Medical Center, effective May 19, 2014.
As CEO, he will oversee Atlanta Medical Center - Main Campus in downtown Atlanta and Atlanta Medical Center - South Campus in East Point, GA.

Casaday is an accomplished healthcare leader with more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of hospital operations, including: establishing new service lines, enhancing academic center programs, fostering strong physician relationships, building businesses to meet community needs and establishing meaningful community partnerships.

Since 1997, Casaday has served in various leadership roles at Tenet Healthcare Corporation, the parent company of Atlanta Medical Center, including interim senior vice president of the company’s Central States region and CEO of the Sierra Providence Health Network in El Paso, Texas, where he championed the development of the network’s east side hospital. Casaday also has held leadership positions at Tenet hospitals in Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida.

Casaday earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Georgia Southern University and a master’s of business administration degree in health services administration from Augusta State University. He has served on the board of directors for the Texas Hospital Association HOSPAC Committee and the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce.
