The purpose of the pharmacy practice residency training program at Atlanta Medical Center is to prepare the pharmacy practice resident to provide pharmaceutical care to multiple patient populations. The resident will have acquired management, leadership and teaching skills that will allow him/her to develop and manage new clinical services and provide education to others. Residents completing the program will exemplify the characteristics of a professional, including the use of good communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to self-evaluate. The program will provide the resident with marketable job skills, allowing for entrance into general clinical pharmacy practice.
Pharmacy residents at Atlanta Medical Center are part of the Graduate Medical Education Program. Therefore, residents are considered full-time employees of the medical center and receive stipends and benefits.
