Quality Programs
 
Many of the patient care standards we focus on have been studied and developed by respected national health care organizations and institutions. As part of our commitment to improving quality of patient care at our hospital, we participate in several national programs and initiatives organized by these independent, third-party agencies to which we voluntarily report clinical outcomes data.
 
100,000 Lives Campaign

The 100,000 Lives Campaign was an initiative developed by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) to engage U.S. hospitals in a commitment to implement changes to improve patient care and prevent avoidable deaths. The 3,100 hospitals nationwide that participated in this initiative saved an estimated 122,000 lives in 18 months. Atlanta Medical Center has implemented all six of the campaign’s quality improvement measures:		 Lives
We have just begin participating in the IHI’s follow-up initiative, The 5 Million Lives Campaign , which challenges American hospitals to adopt six additional changes in care that save lives and reduce patient injuries
 
American Heart Association – Get with the Guidelines Program
 
Get With The GuidelinesSM is a hospital-based quality improvement program designed by the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association to provide hospital staff with tools that follow proven evidence-based guidelines and procedures for cardiac patients in their care. It empowers health care provider teams to consistently treat heart and stroke patients according to the most up-to-date guidelines.
 
 
 
 

Atlanta Medical Center - Tenet Circle of Excellence Winner

Circle of ExcellenceTenet Healthcare Corporation announced on April 22, 2010 that Atlanta Medical Center has been named to the company’s 2010 Circle of Excellence.  

The Circle of Excellence honors only 8 hospitals within the company this prestigious award.  Hospitals that receive this award have achieved the highest levels of quality, service and operational performance. 

 

Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery

Center of ExcellenceThe ASMBS Center of Excellence designation recognized surgical programs with a demonstrated track record of favorable outcomes in bariatric surgery.

 

 

American Heart Association Get with the Guidelines Program Gold Performance Achievement Award for Coronary Artery Disease and Heart Failure

Hospitals receiving Get with The Guidelines Gold Performance Achievement Award have reached an aggressive goal of treating coronary artery disease and heart failure patients with 85% or higher compliance to core standard levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for 12 consecutive months.

Get with the Guidelines Gold PlusHospitals receiving Get with The Guidelines Gold-Plus Performance Achievement Award have reached an aggressive goal of treating stoke patients with 85% or higher compliance to core standard levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for 12 consecutive months.  

 

 

CIGNA Center of Excellence Award for Bariatric Surgery

Certification is based on a series of strict criteria developed in accordance with the guidelines from the National Institutes of Health, the American Society for Bariatric Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons.  

United Health Premium Specialty Center

Atlanta Medical Center has met extensive quality criteria based on nationally recognized medical standards and expert advice to receive designations in the following areas:

  • Cardiac Care

Blue Cross and Blue Shield Blue Distinction for Bariatric Surgery
