Bloodless Medicine & Surgery at Atlanta Medical Center
|
|
The Bloodless Medicine & Surgery program of Atlanta Medical Center offers blood conservation services for patients who wish to avoid blood transfusions during medical and surgical procedures. Atlanta Medical Center serves Georgia with a blood conservation program that provides quality care with a knowledgeable staff of medical professionals. Atlanta Medical Center is part of a network of hospitals nationwide committed to providing medical and surgical alternatives to patients who seek bloodless medicine.
The physicians, surgeons, nurses and other specialists affiliated with the Bloodless Medicine & Surgery program fully understand and support blood conservation. In addition, we provide a full-time coordinator to assist patients and their families throughout the consultation, admission and procedure process.
“Bloodless” means medical or surgical treatment without the use of banked (stored) allogenic blood or primary blood components. Blood loss often occurs during surgery. A bloodless program endeavors to minimize blood loss by utilizing special blood conservation methods. Please see our Patient Guide for more information.
See the flyer of our latest event "Advance Directives Workshop." The event will be held Saturday February 23, 2013. Go to our handy FIND AN EVENT to see other events scheduled around Atlanta Medical Center. |
