Obesity has become a national epidemic with one out of five Americans being more than 30 percent over their ideal weight. The problems of obesity are more than just how you look. People who are obese may have very serious health problems like heart disease and diabetes and may be at increased risk for certain cancers.

 

Atlanta Medical Center is holding free seminars for individuals who are 100 pounds or more overweight. You’ll learn more about medically supervised weight loss options.

 

Classes will be held in the Highland Athletic Center, 261 Parkway Drive, which is on the campus of Atlanta Medical Center. Classes are being offered the first three Saturday's of each month. Call for reservations and times (404.265.6495).

 

Support groups for weight loss surgery patients are held the second Tuesday of the month at noon, the second Thursday at 6 p.m. and the third Saturday at 10 a.m.
