Dr. Steve Saltzman is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and served as Program Director and subsequently Department Chair in Ob/Gyn at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Tulsa.
At Atlanta Medical Center and it's predecessor, Georgia Baptist Medical Center he was the Director of Ob/Gyn, Vice President of Medical Education and for 12 years, Chief Medical Officer. He served on 13 Hospital Committees and was Chair of 5 of these Committees. Over a period of 5 years he participated in physician teaching in Russia, Cyprus, Greece, Italy and Brazil.
He currently practices ambulatory and surgical gynecology. Particular areas of interest include Bloodless Medicine and Evidenced Based Medicine.
Dr. Saltzman practices both ambulatory and surgical gynecology.
Ambulatory care may include all forms of birth control, treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, wellness exams, drainage of breast cysts, pelvic pain, abnormal uterine bleeding, acute and chronic bladder infections, progesterone and estrogen hormone problems, colposcopy of the vulva, vagina, cervix, and perineum frequently from Human Papilloma caused infection, and ambulatory treatment, when appropriate, of all diseases of the vulva, vagina and cervix; Treatment and preventative treatment for osteopenia and osteoporosis.
Surgical care includes all benign diseases of the female genital tract, using minimally invasive surgery when applicable. Surgical procedures include both restorative of otherwise normal tissue or extirpative of significant abnormalities. A significant portion of his practice is dedicated to those women seeking a physician with expertise in bloodless medicine.
