Dr. Zywicke received her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed her internship in general surgery and her residency in neurological surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Kalamazoo College in Michigan.
Dr. Zywicke’s professional experience includes participation in the Summer Research Program for Medical Students at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Tex.; receipt of the Post baccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award from The National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Md.; selection as the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, Fla.; and receipt of the Jonathon B. Spencer Internship in Neuroscience at Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates, Charlotte, N.C.
Dr. Zywicke has co-authored numerous articles on topics pertaining to cellular imaging, stem cell therapy and magnetic resonance contrast agents, among others.
