   Speech Pathology and Audiology Services

Speech Pathology

Speech Pathology services are available for inpatients and outpatients in need of rehabilitation who have experienced:

  • Head Injury
  • Cerebral-vascular Accident
  • Laryngeal Cancer
  • Neurological Diseases
  • Disorders Affecting Speech, Language, Cognition and Swallowing

The program offers evaluations and treatment for impaired infants, children and adults.

Adult Outpatient Speech Pathology is located in the Atlanta Rehabilitation Center at 320 Parkway across from Atlanta Medical Center, (404) 265-6333.

Audiology

Audiology is a service of Rehabilitation Services that evaluates hearing, including tympanometry, ABR and OAE testing. The program is available to infants, children and adults.

The Hearing Aid Bank is a special program for cancer patients who have had a hearing loss as a result of their disease or treatments. Cancer patients may receive hearing care services at Atlanta Cancer Center, which includes complete hearing evaluations, hearing aids and services to orient the patient on hearing aid care and use.
