Vascular Fellowship
David Rosenthal, M.D., Vascular Surgery Fellowship Director

The Atlanta Medical Center Vascular Fellowship is approved as a two-year program by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. A clinical year is spent at Atlanta Medical Center and a research year at the Atlanta CV Research Institute.

The clinical year offers the vascular resident an extensive operative experience with approximately 300 major vascular procedures performed annually. During the clinical year, the vascular resident is responsible for overall patient care which encompasses preoperative diagnostic evaluation, noninvasive diagnostic assessment, operative decision making, and postoperative management. In addition to a large operative experience, the vascular resident will gain expertise in angioscopy, endovascular techniques, thrombolysis and interventional radiologic techniques.

The research year is spent at the Atlanta Cardiovascular Institute, a private, advanced facility in Atlanta. Clinical and research investigative studies are ongoing and vascular surgery publications are encouraged.
