Application Procedure

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), that is available to medical students through their respective Dean's offices. The department begins accepting applications through ERAS in September and ending in mid-November.

These letters are required for a completed application:

  • A letter from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at your medical school, preferably from a senior faculty member or chairman.
  • A letter from one or more other faculty members or house staff members who have special knowledge of your skills. If you prefer, all three letters may originate in your Obstetrics and Gynecology Department.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology accepts foreign medical graduates providing the following requirements are met:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident OR
  • Have a green card OR
  • Have a J1 Visa (H1/B1 visas are not accepted for house staff positions)

It is the applicant's responsibility to be certain that their application is complete. Please ensure that your address and telephone number are current, and please let us know the most convenient times you can be reached by telephone.

You will be notified by e-mail and U.S. postal mail if you have been selected for an interview.

Should you have any additional questions regarding this process, please contact the Program Coordinator at (404) 265-4614 or by e-mail at lisa.steinbrenner@tenethealth.com
