ATLANTA, Ga. – Atlanta Medical Center today announced the promotion of William (Bill) Masterton to chief operating officer of the 460-bed comprehensive healthcare facility. Masterton, 35, has served as Atlanta Medical Center’s chief financial officer since November 2003.
Prior to that, he was with Iasis Healthcare Corporation where he served as the chief financial officer at a number of hospitals including Palms of Pasadena Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla., Town & Country Hospital in Tampa, Fla., and Memorial Hospital of Tampa. He also served as a market chief financial officer for the three facilities. Masterton has experience as a senior management consultant with KPMG Peat Marwick.
“We were fortunate to have someone of Bill’s ability already on staff to assume this vital role at Atlanta Medical Center,” said Bill Moore, chief executive officer at Atlanta Medical Center. “I am confident that Bill will continue to provide the valuable leadership he’s demonstrated in his previous roles at our facility.”
Masterton holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of South Florida in Tampa. Additionally, he holds a master’s degree in business administration also from the University of South Florida. Masterton is a certified public accountant.
