| ATLANTA – Aug. 18, 2008 – Atlanta Medical Center announced today that Dr. Steven Kane, orthopedic surgeon, has accepted the position of Chairman and Program Director for the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program at the medical center.
In addition to leading training of orthopedic surgical residents, Dr. Kane will continue to develop Sports Medicine in the downtown community. He most recently served as team physician and Director of Sports Medicine at the University of Missouri School of Medicine.
Dr. Kane said he most enjoys being involved in the training of new physicians in orthopedic surgery.
“It’s my passion. It’s the reason I’m in medicine. So the opportunity to direct the program and increase its research capabilities are all high priorities,” he said.
Dr. Kane is a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, a residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C. and a Sports Medicine fellowship at Utah State University. He will be joined by his wife and two daughers.
“The Kanes are excited to be moving to Atlanta,” he said. |
