DALLAS – May 11, 2006 – Tenet Healthcare Corporation (THC: NYSE) announced today that William T. Moore, chief executive officer of Atlanta Medical Center, has been named market leader for Tenet’s three hospitals in the greater Atlanta area.

Moore’s appointment is part of the company’s strategy to increase the local visibility of Tenet leadership by naming market leaders in key Tenet markets.  The company also announced today that Charles F. Miller, chief executive officer of Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, S.C., has been named market leader for Tenet’s five hospitals in North and South Carolina.

Moore, who will also continue to serve as chief executive officer of Atlanta Medical Center, will report to John F. Holland, senior vice president of Tenet’s Southern States region.

“Bill Moore is the ideal executive to represent Tenet in the greater Atlanta area,” Holland said.  “He has both broad experience in many facets of our industry and in-depth knowledge of the greater Atlanta area.  Bill will be Tenet’s voice in helping determine and meet the larger health care needs of the communities we serve.”

Tenet’s hospitals in greater Atlanta are:

  • Atlanta Medical Center, 460 beds.  Atlanta.
  • North Fulton Regional Hospital, 167 beds.  Roswell, Ga.
  • South Fulton Medical Center, 338 beds.  East Point, Ga.

Moore, 50, joined Atlanta Medical Center as chief executive officer in September 2001.  Previously, he served as chief executive officer of South Fulton Medical Center.  Before joining Tenet, Moore was president and owner of RT Acquisition Co., an operator of freestanding radiation therapy centers.  Prior to that, he was vice president of operations for Phy Matrix Corp., a physician practice management company.  From 1992 to 1996, Moore was chief executive officer of Lutheran Medical Center, a former Tenet hospital in St. Louis.

He serves on the board of trustees of the Georgia Hospital Assn. and on the board of advisors for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.

Tenet Healthcare Corporation, through its subsidiaries, owns and operates acute care hospitals and related health care services.  Tenet’s hospitals aim to provide the best possible care to every patient who comes through their doors, with a clear focus on quality and service.  Tenet can be found on the World Wide Web at www.tenethealth.com.
