AMC Names New Leadership Team

ATLANTA (September 7, 2001) – The Board of Trustees of Atlanta Medical Center today named William Moore as chief executive officer and president of Atlanta Medical Center. Also, Andrea Wozniak was named as Atlanta Medical Center’s chief operating officer.

Moore assumed his new position at Atlanta Medical Center (AMC) on September 7, 2001. Most recently, he was chief executive officer and president of South Fulton Medical Center, which, like AMC, is owned by Tenet HealthSystem. Moore joined South Fulton Medical Center after serving as president of RT Acquisition Company, an operator of freestanding radiation therapy centers. From 1996 to 1998, he served as vice president, operations for Phy Matrix Corporation, a publicly traded physician practice management company. Moore's previous hospital management experience includes serving as chief executive officer from 1992 to 1996 at Tenet’s Lutheran Medical Center, a 406 bed full-service hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

"Bill brings both breadth and depth in hospital management to Atlanta Medical Center, " said Greg Burfitt, vice president, operations of Tenet's Southern States Region. "Bill has successfully led South Fulton Medical Center since it became a part of Tenet in April. We look forward to Bill's continued leadership and to having him at the helm of one of Atlanta's cornerstone medical institutions."

Andrea Wozniak comes to AMC after spending the past nine years at Tenet’s Hilton Head Medical Center in South Carolina, seven years of which Wozniak served as the hospital’s chief operating officer. Prior to her Hilton Head Medical Center experience, Wozniak served as the vice president, patient care services at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. From 1982 to 1990, Wozniak was the senior vice president, operations for Orlando General Hospital in Florida.

"Andrea brings a wealth of healthcare experience to AMC," stated Burfitt. "Andrea has gained valuable knowledge through working in administrative and nursing positions for 36 years. She has been at the patient’s bedside and thoroughly understands what it takes to deliver high quality care to the individuals we are blessed to serve," added Burfitt.
